Job Description - Medical Receptionist

  • Salary: £12.21 per hour
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Holiday Entitlement:  22 days (full time equivalent) after 5 years continuous service entitlement will increase to 25 days.
  • Location: You will be based at one site but must be flexible to cover at our other sites as required.

We are currently recruiting for a part time Medical Receptionist to work across our sites. You will be based at one site but must be flexible to cover at our other sites as required.

Working pattern as follows: Monday: 8am to 6:30pm (9.5 hours), Tuesday: 8am to 2pm (6 hours), Thursday: 8am to 6:30pm (9.5 hours), Friday: 12:30pm to 6:30pm (6 hours).

The successful candidate will be a professional and committed individual with relevant experience working in a front-of-house capacity, previous experience in a GP surgery is desirable but not essential as long as the candidate can demonstrate suitability and a passion for patient / customer care for the role in their covering letter & CV.

Receptionists are responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. You are the central point of contact for patients and distributing information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team.

The role requires a high percentage of telephone work. The ability to be flexible and work between different sites is desirable. Excellent communication skills and telephone manner are essential, coupled with fast & accurate computer/keyboard skills.
